ADHD Cerebellum Symptoms and Treatment

Wikipedia and other internet sites today define ADHD or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder as psychiatric condition or a neurobehavioral developmental disorder that is common to kids and teens. The main characterization of this is attention problems and hyperactivity that starts at the early age of 3-7 years old. However, today ADHD is evident that can carry over to adulthood if not treated accordingly.

ADHD condition directly affects the motor control of the brain known as cerebellum. As motor control of the brain, cerebellum plays a vital role during child’s development. It contains neuron that is vital to child’s emotional and cognitive functions such as attention, language, fear, pleasure and more. Cerebellum receives everything from different body organs and sensory systems. If the coordination of cerebellum to the different parts of the nerves and body organ is destruct or damage, this will not lead to paralysis instead to mental disorders like ADHD.

ADHD Symptoms

ADHD is also known as ADD or Attention Deficit Disorder and its symptoms is categorized into 3 subtypes and has its own behavioral pattern such as:

1. Inattentive type of ADHD, signs includes:

• Out of focus that leads to careless schoolwork errands

• Incapability to sustain attention in tasks

• Hard time in following instructions

• Problems in organizing things

• Hate or dislike of mental tasks

• Always lose things like toys, notebooks and homework

• Forgetfulness

2. Hyperactive-impulsive type of ADHD, signs includes:

• Restlessness

• Hate to be seated for long hours

• Extreme running or moving around

• Can’t play quietly

• Always on the go

• Always talks

• Answers question in blurt manner or answering question directly without hearing the full question

• Can’t wait for the turn-around time or in line

• Obtrusiveness

3. Combination of inattentive and Hyperactive-impulsive type of ADHD is a combination of two or more symptoms of Inattentive and Hyperactive-impulsive type of ADHD.

Medication and Treatment for ADHD

Until today there is no specific treatment for ADHD condition however it is manageable. As of this time ADHD behavioral control and management system is the best medication for this condition. Behavioral control and management system includes a combination of medication and behavioral therapy. This requires follow-up and monitoring of parents during the management system treatment plan. Parents play an important role in ADHD management plan.

On the other hand, ADHD can be also treated by taking the following types of drugs with doctor’s advice.

• Stimulants

• Non-stimulants

• Antidepressants

ADHD medication or treatment varies from one child to another. Therefore, ensure that before undergoing such therapy and medications you are guided by doctor’s advice to keep your child safe. Improper treatment of ADHD may lead to a more serious condition.
